Aww, what a nice picture… wait, you used WHAT markers???
My 6 year old is an artist. I believe she creates a new piece of art once a day, at least. I love it. She is never bored as long as she has a pencil & a piece of paper.
Today, I discovered a dinosaur she created…
on my oak dining-room table…
without a place-mat underneath…
I quickly grabbed a rag, hoping, desperately, that it was still wet. No dice. So, after staring with rage at the stain for a minute or two, I snagged my handy-dandy iPhone out of my back-pocket and googled
“How to get permanent marker out of wood” and got two answers: nail polish remover & hand sanitizer. Since the UPS man just delivered a Bath & Body Works package full of goodies for me an hour before, including hand sanitizer
, so I grabbed that first. Hmmm, a solution containing 68% alcohol, of course! It came off with ease!!! I still can’t believe it. Also took off a bit of finish though, so I need to look into restoring THAT now, but, at least I no longer have a permanent picture of a blue dinosaur on my oak table. Guess it could’ve been worse, like a purple dinosaur.
