During these first 2 weeks in August, I will be attending BlogHer ’11 in San Diego and taking a little well-deserved vacation before & after! While I’m away, I have selected a few of my personal favorite posts I’ve written over the last year and a half for your reading enjoyment.
16 years ago today, an awkward 17-year old received a phone call from a guy she just finished staring on a community-theater stage with in the musical Gypsy. The future hubs ask me out on a roller-blading date and the rest is, as they say, history. One of the constants in our relationship is our shared love of music. There aren’t many artists we don’t both enjoy… for example, I fell in love with Adele on my own; a couple days ago, he requested to hear Adele because he wants to turn one of her songs into more of a rocker with me. Music is something that binds us, and even though it’s a constant, music seems to evolve with us. So here is a more recent post in honor of the anniversary of our first date. Hope you enjoy listening to us singing/playing together. This song means a lot to us.
Capturing the Everyday… this week, the assignment was to post something we’re good at.
I can’t believe I’m posting this, but if you haven’t already hit play on the embedded player above, you will hear me on lead vocals and the hubs on guitar & backing vocals, singing my favorite song. It was recorded a few years back, and I’m moderately embarrassed that the recording quality isn’t the greatest, but it was recorded in our family room, on a MacBook. Our humble little duo can’t afford to play in fancy-schmancy recording studio! I think you get the idea. Enjoy!
