Momma’s Magic Boredom Eraser Jar!

Day 3 of summer vacation, and I’m hearing the dreaded words “MommaI’m bored!” already!
I had soft goals to come up with a plan before vacation started.
Maybe even some level of a schedule.
Ya know: Tuesday = park, Wednesday = playdate, Thursday = Library, etc.
But… life happens, especially during that last completely chaotic month of school!
And schedules may not be the best solution… summer plans should lean toward going with the flow, don’t ya think?
Instead of a schedule, I decided to create a…
Magic Boredom Eraser Jar!
Momma’s Magic Boredom Eraser Jar is super easy to throw together, and full of creative ideas for your children — most of which require no extra-effort on your part.
No need to thank me, but I will never turn down free beer… #thereisaidit
Most of the activities can be done with things you have around the house. Some activities are more detailed than others. Some are open-ended to spark their creative juices. Others are random acts of kindness. I even threw in a few chores. Hey, the windows won’t wash themselves, right?
The idea behind my Magic Boredom Eraser Jar is to get kids away from the TV and thinking about all the things there are to do around the house… the ideas are endless! Most of the activities I’ve come up with are independent, or can be done with a sibling &/or friend.

Translation: Kids use their minds & get creative… but most of all: Momma gets a break.

Rules: When a child says “I’m Bored”
Momma will wave her magic wand over the
Magic Boredom Eraser Jar.
If the first idea doesn’t suit your fancy,
you may select ONE more.
You must select one or both activities,
or a chore will be assigned instead.

Would you like to print out the ideas I came up with for my family?
I created a Google doc just for this purpose:
Use all of the ideas, or just a few and add ideas that would suit your own family’s needs.
Any ideas I missed? Comment below and I’ll add them!
