My Favorite Musicals

Check out my latest VlogMom video!

Today’s topic is from Erin from A Parenting Production. Erin is wondering if we have any favorite Broadway Musicals.
Oh yes, if you know me, you know I can’t just pick one. It’s like picking a favorite child… or beer!

Check out the video on YouTube (and subscribe while you’re there!) if you can’t view it above.

You can come sit by me at the next show…I’ll sing and hum with you :). Bye Bye Birdie was the first show I was in — just the chorus — but I still remember all the songs. Listening to all your answers, we should totally be buds.

The Bye Bye Birdie chorus was a GREAT chorus to be in! I was so bummed I couldn’t be in the first song just because I was Kim, and, well, everyone was talking about her in the song. But I sang along backstage, dammit! And yes, we should definitely make a musical date sometime!

YES!! Eponine is the BEST! I’d just love to be a part of that musical in any way, shape or form… but Eponine is my long-time dream-role for sure!

Sadly, I’ve never seen Gypsy. There are so many I need to see one day. Never saw Bye, Bye Birdie either. And I should have included The Sound of Music where I played Leisl, huh?

I’m soooo with you on this one – it’s impossible to narrow it down to just one musical!

Of the newer musicals, I love Wicked and The Book of Mormon. Of course, Les Miserables is at the top of my all-time favorites list, as well as JC Superstar, Rent (although I’m moving away from this one as I get older), and Evita. I also saw Fiddler on the Roof at the right place/right time – while it’s not one of my favorites, seeing Topol in his farewell show was amazing!
