My Life So Far: The Highlight Reel

Last week, I spilled my hopes, dreams & aspirations for my life in a Life List.

This week… I’m featuring my highlight reel. I started to include every damn thing I’ve done that I found noteworthy, but stopped myself.

I feel the following list includes things I would’ve drawn up into a life list when I was a child and had the ability to edit over the years. Oh yes, I’m serious. Because there are certain things I did once-upon-a-time that I doubt I’ll ever do again. Like co-pilot a plane with my dad as a child. Or feed an ostrich. Almost lost my hand. Those evil creatures are scary as shit!

Then, let’s be honest here, there are a few items that might appear on my “incredibly personal” highlighted life list. A couple pop up on here, but trust me… there are deeper, crazier, and down-right idiotic things I’ve done that only a select few know about. Certain things… only I know about. Dum-dum-duuuuuum.

Other highlights… such as the concert & travel list, I also cut short. There are many concerts I’m glad I attended, but won’t again… I’m happy I checked them off my list, and I was entertained at the time, but I have no desire to even mention that I saw NKOTB in concert when I was a kid. It was my 2nd concert ever. But, would I add it to my life list today? Hell no. Then there are shows like Clapton & Bonnie Raitt that I LOVED, but very likely won’t be able to afford tickets to see ever again.

Therefore, in absolutely no particular order, I am featuring the highlights of my life. CHEERS!

Goodness, woman, your concert list is CRAY-ZAY!! :>

A ballet class sounds like so much fun. As does fly a kite on the beach. I think I may have flown a kite like once or twice in my life. It’s never been as relaxing as it looks like it should be – for me!

    Love your list!

Yes, and most of those concerts were *with* the hubs… I do believe I’ve pinpointed the root of our debt, after student loans, trips from MI to/from Tucson & eating out too much in our 20s. Oh well. Radiohead in Grant Park 10 years ago was practically a religious experience. I can still hear Thom Yorke’s voice echoing between Lake Michigan & the Chicago skyline. I can still hear Dogs barking all over the Phoenix Suns’ stadium at the In The Flesh Roger Waters concert in ’99, and loved staring out my moon-roof talking about the show with the hubs afterward until the parking lot cleared. And taking Natalie, at age 5, to see her favorite band Green Day still puts a smile on my heart. Whenever I start to get anxiety about our debt I try to focus on the experiences we used our money (or cc!) on… and most of the time, it was money well spent. Can’t put a price-tag on once in a life-time experiences.

BTW — I did the ballet class in college at age 20. I danced from age 2-11 and that tiny bit of experience did help a little. Not a TON, but a little. 😉

Thanks for stopping by! I loved your list too!

Rachel Yamagata?! You’re one of the few people I know who likes her too. 🙂

I’ve seen many on your concert list. Oh, I love live music. Glad you didn’t lose your hand to that ostrich! Great list, thanks for sharing it. 🙂

HA! Thanks, there’s this crazy ostrich farm in the middle of nowhere between Phoenix & Tucson, it was just this weird little stop, so we *had* to stop on one of our many trips… and never felt the need to stop again.
