Last week… it happened.
I got an invitation to join Pinterest and spent a good portion of that day obsessed with pinning & creating boards.
First it was Farmville.
Then I gave up the farm in favor of blogging & Bejeweled Blitz.
Gave up Bejeweled for Angry Birds.
Now… Pinterest.
Hello, my name is Kelli and I’m addicted to Pinterest.
Ahhh, feels good to get that off my chest.
I don’t think I’m the last to know about Pinterest, but when I’ve mentioned Pinterest in casual conversations over the last week or so, I’ve gotten a few “What the hell is that?” looks. Which honestly makes me a little giddy that I’m not the last to get on board for once!
If you haven’t had an opportunity to enjoy Pinterest to the fullest, let me know. I can totally send you an invitation, just be warned… it will take over your life! Mainly because it’s too damn easy to become a Pinterest addict. Once you install the Pin It button to your bookmark bar… all you do is hit it up whenever you see something crazy-awesome anywhere in the webiverse. You pin it to whatever Pinterest board your little heart desires. Don’t have a board that fulfills whatever awesome thing you’re pinning? Super easy to create one right then & there… and then you’re off and running, obsessed with filling that board… it’s a vicious cycle. You can check out everyone else’s boards and repin anything fun you see there. There’s also the social aspect of it: following, liking and commenting on people’s boards you enjoy. Just what you need, another social media site, huh? I know, I know. But trust me on this one. Pinterest is worth getting into! You can organize recipes, get craft ideas, celebrate something you love… hell, I hear people plan entire weddings on here! There’s even an iPhone app, making it nearly impossible to leave Pinterest behind.
After my initial 24 hours of going all out pin-crazy on Pinterest, I’ve had to stop myself; I do not have the luxury of spending gobs of time on Pinterest. I do have children, a house & blog to maintain as well as free-lance writing gigs I’m now adding to my juggling act. Pinterest was the last thing I needed, but it’s such an inspiration, I’m having a hard time finding a negative aspect of it, other than the massive time-suckage. I do check in on Pinterest once in awhile, ok, a few times a day, but I do force myself off and actually close my Pinterest tab when it gets bad. I’m on it more than facebook at this point. #thereisaidit. And I do have to admit, I get a personal high when I see something I pinned re-pinned multiple times over… it’s the little things, my friends. And Pinterest helps you collect these little things as whacked-out-obsessively as you’d like.
Do you need an invite or are you already obsessed with Pinterest like me?
Let me know and I’ll send you an invite &/or follow you!
Happy pinning!

Hahaha… I was going to mention that you put my pinning to shame. 🙂 I LOVE it too, but I guess you’ve got me beat.
Happy Pinning
Can you send an invite my way, please? I’ve been meaning to check it out…. Especially since I’m off on maternity leave, hopefully it will give me some quality pinning time. Thanks!
